SOLOFISH weapon lights and laser sights

Green, red, blue or purple: picking a laser color

We make lasers in four colors because no single color wins everywhere. Here is what each one is good at, in plain terms.

The colors

Green:

The human eye is most sensitive to green, so a green laser looks brightest in daylight. Our green lasers reach about 200 meters by day and 2000 at night. It is our most popular color on pistol light laser combos.

Red:

The classic laser. Red is easy to see indoors and at dusk, a little shorter in bright sun, and usually the least expensive version of each model.

Blue:

Blue stands out against green foliage and many indoor walls, and it reads clearly to people with some kinds of color blindness.

Purple:

Purple contrasts with grass and leaves where green blends in. Our Gmconn purple sight shows about 600 to 1000 feet at night.

Dual beams and circle-dots

Two colors:

Our dual-beam combos pair green with red, blue or purple, so you pick the color for the light you are in with the same button.

Circle-dot:

A dot inside a ring frames the target fast and suits shotguns at close range.

Color on a laser light combo

Light and laser together:

On a tactical laser light combo the weapon light does the target identification and the laser gives a precise aiming point. Our pistol light combos put 450 to 1500 lumens of output beside the beam; rifle combos reach 1750 lumens. Pick the color for where you will use the light: indoors for home defense, red or blue reads well against walls; outdoors, green carries farthest.

Power and runtime:

Color changes runtime a little: green lasers draw more power than red. Every SOLOFISH combo is rechargeable, with a built-in battery and USB or magnetic charging, and a strobe mode on both outputs for control in a hurry.

Fit:

The color does not change the mount. Compact and full-size handguns with a Picatinny or GL rail fit our pistol combos; rifles take the long-gun lights. Bodies are durable, shockproof and adjustable to hold zero for reliable performance.

Safety and the law

Class IIIa:

Every SOLOFISH laser is under 5 mW, Class IIIa. Never point one at people, vehicles or aircraft.

Local rules:

Most US states allow lasers on civilian firearms, but hunting rules differ. Check before you hunt with a laser.
